I have worked on symmetrical abstractions for as long as I’ve been doing laser cut work, but only recently did the spiritual function of this work become clear to me. These mandalas are designed to have inner leaves that can be removed over time, to be given away, burned, buried or lost, in a self-styled ritual of grief and celebration.
